Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 until Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet town located in the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. Many people unfamiliar with the word tend to think it's a isolated island to the west of Montreal but in fact this part of West Island is home to everything from the town of Lachine west. The West Island is frequently referred to as the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay in the city was brief. Brugel was raised in Courtice in the vicinity of Oshawa Ontario. She was determined to become a professional dancer but due to a rapid increase in her height, she surpassed all of her dancing colleagues. The article she wrote about her experience revealed written by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. After I reached the point of outgrowing male dance partners, I began to stop. The former dancers usually turn into acting and Brugel was no exception. An instructor in drama in her high school was able to push her in the direction she was looking for. Her teacher encouraged her to try out to play the character of Anne in the school's annual production. The student tried it out, and ended up playing the character of Anne of Green Gables. This led to a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel's participated participating in numerous productions on big screens and smaller ones. She gained the most fame when she was offered the part as Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast on the show in the season 1 of the series and rarely seen.
